Cori C. Grant, Ph.D., M.B.A., M.S.

Cori C. Grant, Ph.D., M.B.A., M.S., is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Health Systems and Population Health Sciences at the Tilman Fertitta Family College of Medicine at the University of Houston, and is the academic lead for health commons. She mentors students in dissemination and implementation science, with a focus on translating evidence-based practices into clinical and community settings.

Grant’s career bridges academia, health care, and quality improvement sectors with a focus on chronic disease prevention and the role of community-based strategies in improving population health. Before joining the University of Houston, she served as an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where she directed dissemination and implementation research for statewide federally funded grants including NIH, CDC, and AHRQ. 

She also worked as a consultant with Cigna/Evernorth, guiding community health initiatives, and as a research associate with the American Medical Group Association, conducting national studies in implementation science. Earlier in Grant’s career, she held leadership positions in health care quality improvement, including serving as vice president of operations at Qsource and the director of marketing and health services research at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare. Her publications appear in journals such as Population Health Management, Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety, and Annals of Emergency Medicine.

Grant earned her bachelor’s degree in public health from Texas A&M University, a master’s in epidemiology and healthcare administration from the University of Texas School of Public Health, an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee, and a Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Memphis.
