Effective September 15, 2021, the HR Service Center will once again be requiring in-person verification of identity and employment eligibility documentation for the completion of the I-9 section 2. The University has transitioned to in-person operation and, as per USCIS guidelines, the ability to accept work authorization documents digitally for I-9 section 2 completion applies only to employers that are continuing to operate remotely. Please note, documents received virtually on or before September 14, 2021 will continue to be processed to assist in this transition.
As a reminder, work authorization documents submitted physically at the HR Service Center will need to be original and unexpired. In addition, the I-9 verification process will continue to be initiated with the I-9 Section 1 request via the HR website.
The HR Service Center on-site hours are from 7:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, to assist staff, faculty, and students. If you have any questions regarding the I-9 verification process, please contact us at 713-743-3988 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
