Rajeev Raghavan, M.D., M.Ed., FASN, FACP, DipABLM.

Rajeev Raghavan, M.D., M.Ed., FASN, FACP, DipABLM, is adjunct faculty in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine at the University of Houston. He is a board-certified nephrologist and internal medicine physician who also serves as internal medicine program director at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood and core faculty for its nephrology fellowship. His clinical, academic and educational work focuses on kidney disease, medical education and the training of future physicians.

Raghavan brings more than 15 years of experience in academic medicine, clinical care and graduate medical education. Before joining the University of Houston College of Medicine, he served as assistant and associate professor of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also led the nephrology training program and directed courses in renal pathophysiology and renal physiology.

His scholarly work includes research and publications on kidney disease, nephrology education, dialysis care and access to care for patients with kidney disease. He has presented at regional and national conferences and authored articles and book chapters on chronic kidney disease, acute tubulointerstitial nephritis and other areas of nephrology.

Raghavan earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and later earned a Master of Education in health education from the University of Houston.
