As families prepare for a new school year, the UH Health Family Care Center is helping make the transition easier by bringing together school supplies, health services and community resources at its annual Back to School Block Party.

For the newest class of medical students, receiving a white coat represents more than the start of medical school. It is a milestone that recognizes the work that brought them to the College of Medicine while signaling the responsibility they will carry throughout their education and into their careers.

When Foley Jr. transitioned from pre-kindergarten to kindergarten, Briscoe began receiving calls from his school about behaviors that raised concerns. Wanting to better understand his needs and identify ways to support him, she turned to the UH Health Family Care Center.
