Applicants are considered transfer students if you:
- are a student who earned 15 or more transferable hours of college credit after high school graduation (during fall/spring semester) and
- do not qualify for readmission and
- are a U.S. citizen, have applied for permanent residency, or qualify for Texas residency based on Senate Bill 1528
All transfer applicants must complete the ApplyTexas application. Applicants must meet general University admissions requirements before being accepted by the University of Houston. Applicants who indicate Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Industrial Design as their first choice major will be considered for admission into the College of Architecture and Design
Once applicants are admitted to the University of Houston, all applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a portfolio, which should include a statement of interest.
The ApplyTexas application and portfolio should be submitted by the February 1st priority application deadline.
All portfolios must be submitted to our College’s online SlideRoom application for the Transfer Student portal. There is a $5.00 service fee attached to the portfolio submission. This fee is applied to the cost of the submission service; it does not go to the College of Architecture and Design.
All transcripts must be submitted to the University of Houston Office of Admissions.
