Eligibility
Faculty who recently earned their terminal degree and have no prior independent research funding are eligible if they are proposing scholarly work in the humanities, arts, social sciences, or education, or qualifying pilot projects in other disciplines.
Eligibility criteria below are a summary. Review the full requirements in the 2026-2027 Guidelines before applying.
Eligible
Faculty who recently earned their terminal degree
Faculty who have not previously received research support, except while serving as a student or postdoctoral fellow
Scholarly projects in the humanities, arts, social sciences, and education
Pilot projects from other areas, including engineering, natural sciences, and mathematics, that meet the submission criteria.
Not Eligible
Faculty who previously received research support outside their time as a student or postdoctoral fellow
Projects that do not meet the program’s submission criteria
