Eligibility
Faculty without active external funding or a grant from this program in the past two years are eligible if they are pursuing unique scholarly research, book publications, or pilot projects not fully covered by their department or college.
Eligibility criteria below are a summary. Review the full requirements in the 2026-2027 Guidelines before applying.

Faculty applicants seeking support for unique or unusual research and scholarly projects not routinely supported by their department or college
Projects in the humanities, arts, social sciences, and education
Pilot projects from any area, including engineering, natural sciences, and mathematics, if they meet submission criteria
Book-publication projects
Applicants with partial financial support from their department or college
Not Eligible
Applicants submitting more than one application for this program in the same year
Applicants who have already received a funded project through this program within the past two years
Projects currently funded by external sources
