Daphne Massey, M.D.


Daphne Massey, M.D., is an adjunct faculty member at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. She is a pathologist who is triple boarded in anatomical pathology, clinical pathology, and cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology. Massey currently practices with HCA Healthcare in Houston, where she provides diagnostic information to assist in the management, treatment and prognosis of patients.

Throughout her career as a physician, she has primarily focused on serving patients in the Gulf Coast region. Massey has years of experience functioning as the CLIA laboratory director, center medical director, CLIA technical consultant, and CLIA clinical consultant for Octapharma Plasma, LLC.  With over 15 years of teaching experience, she has worked with students of all ages, backgrounds, and educational settings. She is deeply passionate about offering mentorship, guidance, and support to students aspiring to pursue careers in medicine.

Massey graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s of science degree in biological sciences from California State University Sacramento in Sacramento, CA. She earned her medical degree from the University of California Davis School of Medicine, where she was awarded the Charles M. Blumenfeld, M.D. Endowed Scholarship. Massey completed her pathology residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She subsequently completed her fellowship training in Surgical Pathology at Houston Methodist Hospital, followed by an additional fellowship in Cytopathology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Massey currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Space City Chapter of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She is an avid traveler and has an ardent appreciation for the performing and culinary arts.
