Jamie M. Everett, M.D.

Jamie M. Everett, M.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. She is also a practicing pathologist, providing diagnostic information to patients and clinicians who is board certified in both anatomic and clinical pathology by The American Board of Pathology.  

Dr. Everett joins the University of Houston from HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center where she served as the medical director of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services. She has also served as assistant professor, director of gastrointestinal and liver pathology at The University of Texas Health Science Center – McGovern Medical School. In addition, Dr. Everett has served on the executive board of the National Medical Association’s pathology section, presented at national and international conferences, and received the 2021 Dean's Teaching Excellence Award from The University of Texas’ McGovern Medical School. Dr. Everett has taught medical education in a variety of capacities and authored numerous publications in pathology. 

She completed her undergraduate education at Howard University and received her medical education from The Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Everett completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Weill Cornell Medical College and, while serving as chief resident, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. In addition, she completed fellowship training in gastrointestinal and liver pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital of the Harvard Medical School and earned a certificate in Physician Leadership and Management from the University of Houston Clear Lake. 

Dr. Everett also possesses a strong passion for teaching, bioinformatics, gastrointestinal and genitourinary pathology, as well as diversity and community outreach. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Art League Houston, is an avid supporter of the Houston Symphony and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
