Adalia serves as a Career Counselor for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) and a Pre-Law Advisor at University Career Services. Adalia is dedicated to working with students at the University of Houston throughout their academic development as they reach their professional career goals. Adalia is passionate about empowering first-generation and Latinx college students develop the tools, opportunities, and preparation to achieve their career-related goals.

As a CLASS career counselor, she works with students through their major or career exploration, supporting students to prepare strong application materials, teaches students strategies on how to have the confidence in their own skills and abilities, and provides individual recommendations based on student needs. She teaches the Wednesday section of the Liberal Arts Career Planning course at the University of Houston in the Fall and Spring semester.

Before coming to UH, she taught in Houston and Aldine ISD elementary classrooms for 6 years serving a predominantly Spanish-speaking Hispanic student population in the north-Houston area and loved coaching incoming teachers in classroom management skills and content curriculum. Adalia is a native Houstonian and alumni of The University of Texas at Austin, 2011 (Bachelor of Science in Education) and the University of Houston, 2019 (Masters of Education in Higher Education)

Adalia is a proud mentor of the Las Comadres First-Gen Latina Student Mentoring Program and a member of the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE).
