Assets are reusable, structured content elements that are used on multiple pages.

Assets in Modern Campus work similarly to "blocks" in Cascade. If you can place your content—whether text or images—into a block, that block (or Asset) can then be deployed within a page wherever the Asset is placed

Unlike Snippets, Assets always maintain the same form and are not configurable on a page-by-page basis. These ~Plain Text~ Assets are to be created by your department. Tutorials on how to create and use Plain Text Assets are linked through the red buttons.

Be sure to read the Getting Started page to see where to find the Asset option in the MC Editor. (Hint- It's the rectangular arrow icon next to the "< >" button.)

Web content Assets

A Web Content Asset can be built from plain text that includes links, images, or even Snippets that you want to reuse across multiple pages.

Keep in mind that when a Snippet is saved as an Asset, it looks and behaves the same as the regular Snippet — but with the added benefit of being centrally managed for consistency and easy updates.

Snippet as Reusable Asset  | Asset Type: Web Content

(Select: The name of the Asset you created in the Asset dropdown. This Asset will consist of whatever Snippet you wanted to be reused repeatedly throughout your site.)

For example, we created a Web Content Asset called “EI Accordion (Landing Page) – Micro-Credential FAQs”. This allows the FAQ accordion Snippet to be dropped into different pages without needing to rebuild it each time. Feel free to create your own reusable Snippet Asset using almost any Snippet.
