Discover What Campus Life Looks Like at UH

Being a student at the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts means you are part of something bigger—an energetic, diverse, and creative university community. Whether you’re interested in student leadership, media, cultural organizations, or campus traditions, there are countless ways to connect, contribute, and grow at the University of Houston.

Campus Connections

Lead. Represent. Make a Difference.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official voice of UH students and advocates on their behalf with university leadership. With representatives from across campus—including the arts—SGA offers students the opportunity to develop leadership skills, work on meaningful initiatives, and shape the future of campus life.

Celebrate What Makes UH Unique

Throughout the year, UH hosts events that bring the campus together and celebrate student creativity, culture, and connection:

  • Frontier Fiesta – A student-produced spring festival with performances, food, and games
  • Weeks of Welcome – A multi-week celebration to kick off the fall semester and welcome new and returning students
  • Cougar First Impressions – Friendly greeters and campus guides help students navigate their first days of class

McGovern College students often perform, volunteer, or showcase their work at these events—bringing art directly into the life of the university.
