Why Should I Join this LLC? 

The First Generation LLC, supported by the Challenger Program, is designed to enhance and support academic success, personal development, and campus involvement for first-generation college students at the University of Houston. This unique residential experience is open to first-time-in-college students from all majors who identify as first-generation students. 

How Will I Benefit?

• We prioritize ensuring a sense of belonging for students who are first in their family to attend college.
• We provide intentional developmental opportunities to support participants during their first year of college.
• You will have the opportunity to benefit from support services, workshops, peer mentoring, service projects, and activities.
• Our community encourages strong course performance through ongoing academic support, peer tutoring, priority registration, financial aid assistance and wrap-around secondary advising 

Where Will I Live? 

This community is part of Cougar Village. You will live in a two-bedroom suite with two students per furnished bedroom and a private bathroom per suite. Other amenities include:

• Mini fridges in room
• Floor kitchens
• High-speed internet
• Study rooms
• Outdoor living room
• Cougar Village Market (convenience store)
• Adjacent to Moody Towers Dining Hall

Eligibility Requirements  

• Freshmen from all majors who identify as first generation college students
• Enroll in common section of USS 1301 College Success, which satisfies UH Core Writing in the Discipline requirement

Visit the myHousing application in AccessUH and select First Generation LLC. Applications are due June 30th. Spaces are limited, so apply early.
