App Pilot Project Participant Recruiters

Looking for a team of 2 students to work alongside alumni members of the Texas Council of Developmental Disabilities to conduct outreach to subsidiaries of The Arc of Texas (a statewide civic organization that serves the disability community) in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso and recruit those organizations to participate in a pilot project that will test the concept for a new app. This new app would crowd-source customer reviews of local businesses and community organizations from the disability community and is being funded through a grant. The pilot project is meant to guide research and development of this crowdsourcing app that will provide a digital space for the disability community to locate disability inclusive businesses (dentists, restaurants, schools, daycares, retailers, grocery stores, etc.) and public spaces. Recruiters will have an opportunity to help design incentives & evaluation metrics for the pilot project as well. The pilot project is a 2 1/2 month internship that runs from October 2022 to mid-December 2022 Stipend: $600

Disability Advisory Panel

Looking for 2 student disability self-advocates to sit on the Disability Advisory Panel for the App Design Team in collaboration with engineering students from Boston University. We will use data from the pilot project to inform the design of the app. You will attend at least 3 design team meetings (Zoom), help analyze pilot data, conduct follow up interviews of pilot participants as needed, research metrics for disability inclusion, and bring your gained insights to the app design team to help design the app's user experience. Certification in the subject areas is not required or preferred. Certification must be completed by January 1, 2023. The position pays $63,000, a $3,000 sign-on bonus, and great benefits.
