Professor & Associate Dean for Research
Ezemenari M. Obasi, Ph.D.

Obasi leads the overall operation of the office and is responsible for advancing the research culture in the College. He serves as the catalyst for facilitating innovative research that supports the College mission "to lead and inspire generative transformations of learning, health, leadership and well-being by developing new knowledge for an increasingly diverse world." Specifically, Obasi develops and oversees (a) faculty research development initiatives, (b) small grants program, (c) research policies and procedures, (d) community partnerships, (e) pre- and post-award services, (f) compliance management, and (g) the dissemination of our scholarship to a broad range of stakeholders. Lori Armstrong

Research Liaison Officer
Lori Armstrong, MBA, MRA, CRA

Armstrong has a Master of Research Administration degree and is a Certified Research Administrator. She is our pre-award specialist and coordinates the proposal development and submission process. For pre-award activities, she is our authorized signing official on behalf of the University. She serves as liaison between the College and other colleges on campus, the Division of Research, as well as other universities and external funding agencies. Armstrong assists faculty in identifying funding opportunities utilizing websites such as GrantFoward and assists with sponsor interactions through Cayuse, eCommons,, FastLane, and other sponsor specific portals. Lena Mitchell

Lena Mitchell

Mitchell is responsible for the financial management of all funded research projects for the Departments of Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Amy Jones, M.S., CRA

Jones has a Master of Science degree and is a Certified Research Administrator responsible for the financial management of funded research projects for the Department of Psychological Health and Learning Sciences. Mary Fisher-Warrick

Fisher-Warrick manages research data and communications for the office. She automates and streamlines forms and processes, and as customer liaison, strives to positively impact customers' satisfaction and increase awareness of services and resources.
