apa-san-fran2.jpg Posted August 6, 2018 About 65 professors, students and alumni from the University of Houston College of Education shared their research on stress, depression, autism spectrum disorder, smoking cessation and other timely topics at the American Psychological Association conference in San Francisco.

The conference, which took place August 9 to 12, catalyzes professional development and networking among thousands of psychologists, researchers and student scholars from around the world.

"I am excited to see all the great work being conducted at the University of Houston being presented on a national stage," said Jon Schwartz, the College's associate dean of graduate studies and a counseling psychology professor who previously chaired APA’s Prevention Section (Division 17).

Professors Norma Olvera and Nathan Smith, who also are attending, added that the conference gives graduate students a great opportunity to present their research.
