Cougar Cupboard 2: McElhinney Hall

WE’RE HERE TO HELP

The Andrews Foundation Cougar Cupboard 2 serves UH students who may be experiencing financial hardship and need access to food and toiletries. The pantry, housed in the College of Education in McElhinney Hall, is open to all currently enrolled UH students in any college and is supported by donations, volunteers and assistance from Cougar Cupboard. Students should make an appointment via Navigate before visiting Cougar Cupboard 2. Students may also access Cougar Cupboard on MLK Boulevard.

The pantry is located in McElhinney Hall, Suite 2007. Please make an appointment via Navigate first. When you arrive, check in at the Student Success reception desk.

How to Make an Appointment

  • Log into AccessUH (or access Navigate with your Navigate phone app).
  • Select Navigate.
  • Click Make an Appointment.
  • Choose “Support Services” as your appointment reason.
  • Select “College of Education / Cougar Cupboard 2.”
  • Select an available date and time that works for you.
  • If you have any special dietary restrictions or need toiletries (when available), please indicate that in the “comments” section when you make an appointment.
  • Please arrive on time for your Cougar Cupboard 2 appointment.
     

We welcome donations of nonperishable food, toiletries and school supplies to McElhinney Hall, Suite 2007 (3623 Cullen Blvd., Houston, TX 77204-5023). View a list of requested items.

Yes, and thank you! You may donate online through the “Give to UH” website. The process should take less than five minutes. Please follow these instructions:

  • Click on the “Colleges and Programs” tab.
  • Select “UH College of Education” as your area of impact.
  • Select “General” as the secondary area of impact.
  • Select “Andrews Foundation Cougar Cupboard 2” as the fund.

Are you interested in helping? Cougar Cupboard 2 is run by volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • assisting with food drives
  • organizing items
  • staffing the pantry
  • administrative responsibilities and more.
