On April 30, 2010, the Department of Economics, in collaboration with the Abramson Center for the Future of Health, hosted the Conference on Gender, Health & Economic Development. The day-long conference featured presentations by six top researchers in the research area: Hoyt Bleakley (University of Chicago Booth School of Business), Erica Field (Harvard University), Nancy Qian (Yale University), Shelly Lundberg (University of Washington), Emily Oster (University of Chicago Booth School of Business), and Chinhui Juhn (University of Houston). The event was held at the Rockwell Pavilion, and attracted about sixty participants from various fields, including economics, medicine, education and women’s studies.
