    For those of you who are new to our campus, let me say welcome to the University of Houston.  And to those who are returning, I'm so pleased to say welcome back.  It is understandable that many of you are approaching the fall with anticipation and concern given the pandemic we continue to navigate. I can imagine this is especially true for our freshman class and your families.

It is sometimes difficult to grasp the physical, emotional and financial toll it has taken on all of us.

    President Renu Khator shared significant news items that impact the University community. She addressed revised COVID-19 return to work protocols - including new face mask requirements, the establishment of a $1 million research fund for faculty and the University’s next steps toward addressing race relations and social justice.
