Giving
Every gift counts! NSM is leading the charge for UH’s quest to become Texas’ next top-tier university—but we need your help to get there. Alumni and community support is a key measure in a top-tier university.
The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is solving global problems today through innovative research, world-class instruction and community outreach. We rely on the dedication and generosity of our students, alumni, parents, and friends to continue the tradition of excellence that UH and NSM are known for.
Investing in the Future
Endowment Brings Classroom Learning to Life
For Randy Barta (’76), Geology Field Camp brought all his hard work and learning into
focus. To ensure that other students are able to enjoy the field camp and learn from
it without the distractions of the outside world, he and his wife established the
Carol and Randy Barta Geology Field Camp Scholarship Endowment.
Giving Back to Education
Mike and Elsa Tansey assessed their pattern of giving and decided to concentrate it
in one area. Their choice: Mike’s favorite institution, the University of Houston.
Endowment Helps Students “Cross the Finish Line”
Sometimes financial hurdles and other obligations make the last semester of college
difficult to complete. Linda (’79) and Patrick Magill (’77) understand those barriers
to graduation; they lived through them.
Planned Gift for Students
Richard and Thelma Percoco are leaving a legacy that will impact biology and biochemistry
students and NSM’s Excellence Fund.
