BRASS

Daring. Dynamic. Distinguished.
An internationally recognized artist faculty, world-class ensembles, and an impressive record of student successes as performers and educators.

BRASS

The internationally recognized faculty of the Moores School of Music Brass Area provides a comprehensive musical learning experience through progressive curricula designed to support our students’ career aspirations.

Each of our brass studios offers individual instruction that caters to the unique needs of each instrument. In addition to weekly lessons, students participate and perform in weekly studio classes; learn about stage presence, practice methods, and audition preparation; and share musical ideas with their peers.  Abundant performing opportunities that include the Wind Ensemble and concert bands, the Symphony Orchestra, the AURA contemporary ensemble, jazz and chamber ensembles, and the Spirit of Houston Marching band, allow our students to develop high-level ensemble skills necessary for successful careers as music educators and performers.

Current and former students have won prizes in major instrumental competitions and earned professional positions in orchestras, premiere military bands, wind symphonies, and prestigious graduate programs.  Our instrumental music education graduates enjoy a near 100% job placement rate and have achieved remarkable success in teaching positions at all levels.
