2026 UH Arts District Summer Camp

Join us at the University of Houston Arts District for a creative summer day camp for children ages 6–12 that explores art, theater, music, architecture, and design through hands-on projects and playful discovery.

Each week focuses on a different creative world, with campus field trips, engaging games, and art-making activities that introduce kids to new skills and university spaces. Campers work on fun, interactive projects while connecting creative expression to the Public Art UHS collection. It’s an exciting and enriching way for children to explore their artistic interests and experience the energy of a college campus.

SESSION 1: June 8 - 12

Set Design | Campers go behind the scenes of the Wortham Theater to explore how sets are built. After visiting a real set design shop, students develop their own story, then design and create their own miniature stage environment.

SESSION 2: June 15th - 19th

Architecture & Design | Students explore how buildings and spaces are designed. After visiting the art and architecture library and exploring university student and professional architectural models, campers design and build their own structures, learning how ideas become spaces we use every day.

SESSION 3: June 22nd - 26th

Music & Art | Each day begins with live music and ends in the art studio. Campers listen, move, and respond to performances by creating artwork in a different medium each afternoon, discovering how sound can inspire visual art.
