Active Learning Center

The Active Learning Center (ALC) at Hilton College is designed to support collaborative and technology-enhanced learning. The space includes one instructor computer and 29 student computers with statistical packages and AI-powered data analytics software such as SPSS, AMOS, Tableau and XLMiner. The room is equipped with two short-throw Epson projectors, which can be used together in live mode or individually for in-person, online and hybrid education modules. The projector screens are paired with Epson touch sensors, allowing instructors to write notes directly on the display. The room also has its own AV system.
In addition to the technology, the ALC offers a flexible layout with tables, chairs and couches, creating an environment that encourages both formal instruction and informal collaboration for creative and innovative thinking and knowledge sharing.
Our students benefit from this space in many ways, including: The ability to receive hands-on experience with industry-relevant data analytics software (SPSS & AMOS, Tableau, XLMiner); Opportunities for group work, simulations, interactive projects and workshops; As well as a flexible and collaborative classroom setting that enhances engagement and learning outcomes.
Hilton College also plans to incorporate a virtual reality studio, robotics practices and collaboration for more proactive and innovative learning in the future. These additions will further enhance students’ hands-on experience and innovative learning opportunities.
