COVID-19 Vaccine

UH is partnering with H-E-B Pharmacy to offer the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine on August 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to all faculty, staff and students.

If you have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, this is an excellent opportunity to gain protection from the virus, and it takes just one shot. We are encouraging all UH faculty, staff and students who have not been vaccinated yet to register for the vaccination clinic and get vaccinated before fall semester starts on August 23.

The vaccine is free. Those individuals with insurance will be asked to provide insurance information but insurance is not required. These appointments cannot be transferred to another individual. 

APPOINTMENT REGISTRATION

If you are a UH faculty, staff or student who meets the eligibility requirements and wish to request your first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, August 16, 2021: 

• Complete the COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Registration form. Choose J&J as the vaccine manufacturer.
• You will receive a confirmation email after you have submitted your COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Registration. 
• Please note that the sign up pages states that “**This is for FIRST (1st) dose only; your second (2nd) dose appointment will be automatically scheduled after you receive your first dose**” Please ignore this statement as it only applies to the Moderna/Pfizer vaccine, NOT the J&J vaccine. The J&J vaccine is one dose only.

AT YOUR APPOINTMENT

Everyone who receives the vaccine will need to stay for 15 minutes to ensure no negative reactions develop. Staff will also conduct temperature checks before vaccinating recipients as part of the COVID-19 protocol.
