Clinical Services
SACH provides low-cost assessment and treatment services for children, adolescents, and adults.
For individuals interested in finding out more about our services, a member of our team will be happy to speak with you over the phone to answer any questions you may have and discuss your specific concerns. An assessment appointment may be scheduled in order to help us better determine the precise nature of your or your child's problem(s). This appointment typically includes structured interviews and the completion of several questionnaires.
Treatment
Treatment provided at SACH is evidence-based, meaning that the strategies and techniques we use have been shown to be effective in previous treatment research. In particular, behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) are used. CBT is recognized as "best practice" for the treatment of anxiety by the World Health Organization.
What is Behavioral/Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy?
CBT is a short-term treatment approach that sets specific goals for therapy. Treatment focuses on providing individuals the skills, experiences and support they need to reduce and overcome problems with anxiety, fear, and/or sleep. In children, parents play a critical role in CBT by helping them practice and master the skills they learn in treatment. Another form of behavioral therapy called Parent Management Training is also offered at SACH for families with pre-school aged children.
Professional Services
SACH staff are available for professional consultation, seminars, workshops and lectures on a range of topics related to anxiety and sleep. Workshops and talks can be tailored to the level and specific interests of attendees.
