Luane is a fourth-year student in the Counseling Psychology Doctoral program in the University of Houston. Originally from Brazil, she received both Bachelor and Master´s degrees in psychology at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). She is also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in Brazil and has been working with clients on the treatment of the most various psychological disorders since 2018.

She believes that the psychotherapy process must primarily serve individual needs, and she enjoys working within different theoretical approaches, especially a combination of CBT and Emotional Focused-Therapy (EFT). Her main professional goals are providing psychotherapeutic services for Latinx (especially Brazilians/Brazilian-Americans), and to facilitate change processes through meaningful reflections and discussions. Luane is fluent in Portuguese and English.
