Biographical Summary

Dr. Kent L. Tedin is a professor of political science. He was chair of the political science department from 1986-2002, and again as interim chair 2018-2019. He taught previously at the College of William and Mary. His areas of interest are public opinion, survey research methods and statistics. He has published articles in the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, the Public Opinion Quarterly and numerous other peer-reviewed journals. He is coauthor along with Robert S. Erikson of "American Public Opinion: Its Origins, Content and Impact," 10th edition (Routledge, 2019). His current research agenda is on the politics of the family in the era of polarized politics. He and his coauthors have presented papers from this project at conferences sponsored by American Political Science Association, the European Political Science Association and the Southern and Southwest Associations. An article from this project was published in the Journal of Politics (November 2018).
