Vera Moiseytseva
Vera Moiseytseva is an Argonne Associate in the Licensing & Risk Assessments group at Argonne National Laboratory (since 2020). With background in Nuclear Engineering she's been working in developing and applying innovative methods for risk-informed decision-making to improve safety culture in Nuclear and most recently Oil & Gas Industry.
Before joining Argonne National Laboratory four years ago, Dr. Moiseytseva was a part of a consulting company, Y.K.Risk, LLC for 5 years, providing custom applications of risk management and nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulics at commercial nuclear utilities to help the utilities with implementing solutions that would reduce cost while at the same time, maintain or improve upon existing high levels of nuclear safety.
Dr. Moiseytseva's almost a decade long prior work with the Nuclear Engineering Department at Texas A&M University let her to obtain experience in Risk-Informed Asset Management and Generation Risk Assessment. The experience included development an analytical solution of Markov state transition models for nuclear power plant systems, performing failure mode and effect analysis, and doing an options study for an operating nuclear reactor vessel head replacement option (for STP NPP), to name a few.
Dr. Moiseytseva received her PhD in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University. She also got a Master degree in the Material Protection, Control and Accounting (MPC&A) and Nuclear Export Control, and Bachelor degree in Nuclear Reactors design from Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute (MEPhI) in Russia.
