Sinem Perk
Sinem Perk is a Principal Systems Scientist in the Grid Expansion and Interdependencies Group in the Energy Systems and Infrastructure Assessment Division at Argonne National Laboratory, with over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience in computational modeling, analytics, and optimization. Her work focuses on process safety and resilience of critical energy infrastructure, including safety-critical systems in offshore energy exploration, production, and transportation, natural gas transmission, and electric power generation. She has experience developing and applying methods for process supervision, identifying high-risk process failures, evaluating and diagnosing operational vulnerabilities, supporting safety management system development, and improving decision-making for complex engineering systems. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Bogazici University. She is a member of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO/TC 176 Quality Management and Quality Assurance and is affiliated with the American Society for Quality.
