3.0 preferred

GRE waivers are available.*

For international students: This program does not meet the requirements for studying in the U.S. with an F-1 or J-1 visa.

Applicants must submit the following application and materials to be considered for admission into the Specialist in School Psychology program.

Resume/CV

Your resume should include your academic history, professional experience, and, if applicable, any relevant research and publications.

Transcript(s)

Transcripts must show evidence of statistics, research methods, and abnormal psychology coursework.

1 Letter of Recommendation

A recommender should be able to comment on your academic potential in graduate school and leadership potential in the field of study. You will provide contact information for references and they will receive an email with instructions.

Statement of Interest

Write a statement of interest that addresses the following:

Articulate your reason(s) for applying to the program and share your career goals.

Format:

1-2 pages, double-spaced
Times New Roman font (12 point)
1-inch margins

Application Fee

$50 for domestic applicants
$80 for international applicants

English Proficiency

All graduate applicants, regardless of citizenship status, must demonstrate proficiency in English to obtain admission to UH. Many applicants meet this requirement based on earning an undergraduate degree in the United States and do not need to submit documentation beyond their transcript. Admissions Decisions

Applicants will receive email confirmation via ApplyWeb when all required documents have been received.
Admission decisions will be posted on ApplyWeb. You must formally accept your admissions offer in ApplyWeb in order to enroll.

*The GRE is not required for applicants with a master’s degree or an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If taking the GRE, have your official scores sent to UH using school code 6870.
