Student Organization Leadership Development (SOLD) Sessions

Student Organization Leadership Development (SOLD) sessions are available to provide foundational education for student organization leaders or aspiring leaders to effectively manage and lead their organizations. Students are able to gain insight and expertise from others around the UH Community while discovering their abilities in areas such as decision making, money management, goal-setting, event planning and more.

To complete the SOLD program, participants must attend 6 workshops.

Mandatory Activities

There are no mandatory activities or workshops. Participants can complete the SOLD series by attending 6 elective workshops.


Participants may choose from the following electives to complete their 6 credits for the SOLD Series program. Workshops cannot be repeated for multiple credits.

Is your organization having trouble articulating your purpose? Do you need to re-tool your mission and vision statements? Have you discussed implementing core values? If so, this session is for you. Come and get practical tools to start your organization on the path to success!

Does your organization need help to recruit members? Are you looking for innovative ways to attract dedicated students? We have some great strategies we would like to share that will help you recruit members as well as keep them engaged!

Time: 4 PM - 5 PM
Room: SC North – Impact Room

Do you need information on how to manage your organization's finances? Has your organization developed good bookkeeping practices? Does your organization need to learn how to request funding? If you need help in any of these areas this SOLD session is for you! We want to equip student leaders with great resources to effectively manage their financial responsibilities.

Does your organization need help to come together? Do you need to find ways to make your executive board operate in synergy? If so, this session is for you. We want to help you understand group dynamics so that your organization can make a greater impact at UH! Come out and learn how to lead groups, how to develop individuals and why it's important to invest in Team Building!

Does your organization need strategies to help manage conflict? If so, this SOLD Session is for you! We will explore tools, methods, and strategies to aid you in understanding conflict styles and expose you to methods for approaching, managing, and resolving conflicts.
