This campaign gives faculty, staff, students, and alums an opportunity to celebrate their association with the University and share their stories. All Cougars are invited to share stories, strengths and personal attributes that connect them to UH.

MLK Commemorative Celebrations

January 17-31, 2025

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration is an opportunity for the University of Houston community to celebrate and reflect on the legacy and life of civil rights leader Dr. King. We gather during this time to memorialize the work and accomplishments of one of the most prominent African American leaders in modern history.

Juneteenth

June 14-18, 2024

Juneteenth is a day that honors freedom and resilience. Officially recognized as a holiday in Texas since 1980 and designated a federal holiday in 2021, Juneteenth's importance continues to resonate with many Americans.

While the University of Houston will be closed on June 19 in observance of this significant day, the Cougar community will come together to celebrate through a variety of campus events and activities. Let's honor this rich history and promote understanding and unity within our community.

Weeks of Welcome Mixers

August 19-29, 2024

Whether you're a new or returning Coog, the University of Houston wants to give you a warm welcome! During Weeks of Welcome, the Center for Student Advocacy and Community puts on free mixers for students to learn about our services, create relationships with one another, and find their community at the University of Houston!

HSI Day

September 12, 2024

Our HSI Day Celebration offers a chance for the UH community to recognize and celebrate the university's HSI designation, academic excellence, and the richness of Hispanic culture. Various campus departments and student organizations collaborate to create an engaging lineup of events for everyone to enjoy.

AANAPISI Day

September 26, 2024

AANAPISI Day CelebrASIAN at the University of Houston, is a vibrant event dedicated to celebrating our designation as an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI). UH is proud to be among over 200 universities nationwide that hold this designation. This event provides the Uh community with various opportunities to learn about the impact of AANAPISIs and their significance in higher education.
