Mathematics Major

Students who choose to major in mathematics must complete the following requirements in addition to the special requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree:

MATH 3330, 3331, 3333, one of 3334 or 3335 or 3364, and 4389
A minimum of 12 semester hours of 4000-level mathematics
One of the following sequences: MATH 4331 and 4332, 4335 and 4336, 4350 and 4351, 4364 and 4365, 4377 and 4378 or 4320 and 4380

Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Biology

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Biology is an interdisciplinary degree program jointly administered by the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Department of Biology and Biochemistry, and the Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston. In addition to general university and college requirements, the degree calls for 26 hours of biology/biochemistry, 27 hours of mathematics, 21 hours of chemistry and physics, and 6 hours of interdisciplinary biology/mathematics courses.
