HR Quick Notes:

Notification to Employees Receiving One – Time Stipend of $1,500

On November 12th, the University notified 1,535 employees that they would receive a one-time stipend of $1,500 on November 14th through their direct deposit.

This year due to budget limitations the University was not able to offer merit increases. The Office of the Provost and the Division of Administration and Finance worked to identify a pool of resources that would be available to qualified faculty and staff employees at the lower end of the pay scale.  To be considered for this one-time stipend, eligible employees had to meet all the criteria below.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Classified as benefits-eligible;
  • Continuously employed at least six months prior to September 1, 2014;
  • Have an annualized base salary of $50,000 or less;
  • Have not received an FY 2014 or later base salary pay increase of 5% or more; and
  • Owe no debt to the University as of October 30, 2014.

It is important to note that determinations about available resources, options for distribution, and criteria are determined every year within the policy of the University.
