The Life Ahead

A judgment-free group discussion co-facilitated by UH Wellness and Cougars in Recovery. This community is for students who are curious about reducing negative impacts related to their substance use but are not currently abstinent.

BASICS/CASICS

Brief Alcohol Screening in College Students (BASICS) and Cannabis Screening and Intervention for College Students (CASICS) are one-on-one conversations with a facilitator regarding an individual's alcohol and drug use.

Cougars in Recovery

An on-campus community that provides students in recovery from addiction a safe, supportive, and substance-free environment.

Counseling and Psychological Services

The mental health office that provides University of Houston students with free counseling and referrals to substance use treatment and recovery support groups.

Student Health Center and Campus Pharmacy

The University of Houston department that offers medical care, medications including over-the-counter naloxone, and a prescription drug take back program.

UH Care Team

University of Houston students can submit a report if they are concerned about a student's behavior. This multidisciplinary team of staff members then helps students develop a comprehensive plan of action.

UH Health Family Care Center

A medical clinic located in the Health 2 building that offers primary care, mental health services, and behavioral health services. The UH Health Family Care Center also offers a sliding fee discount program to ensure affordable access to healthcare.
