Who oversees THE Collaborative?

THE Collaborative is facilitated by the Action Network for Equitable Wellbeing (ANEW). ANEW is a national community of changemaking individuals, institutions of higher education, and organizations that work to accelerate change in higher education settings so that all college students can thrive and flourish.

trellis

THE Collaborative is funded by the Trellis Foundation, a grant-making public charitable organization focused on improving postsecondary attainment for low-income students and students of color in Texas.

What does University of Houston’s participation in THE Collaborative entail?

The core team consists of staff members from various UH departments that actively engage with the greater statewide and nationwide collectives through learning sessions, monthly community calls, peer coaching, Assistant Vice President (AVP) leadership calls, and Changemaking Pathways milestones.

THE Collaborative utilizes ANEW’s Guided Changemaking Pathways for Better Outcomes theory of improvement. As part of THE Collaborative, University of Houston is expected to complete different activities that lead to better student outcomes. The most current milestone, the 5X Project, consists of examining strategies to support students in finding and engaging with their people and community.

WISHES is a brief survey that provides colleges and universities with data to adapt institutional norms, structures, and processes to advance student wellbeing and mental health efforts across campus.

All institutions in THE Collaborative submit monthly reports to facilitate learning and problem-solving for improvement across universities.
