Joanne Jacques is a Mathematics - Data Science major at the University of Houston. When asked about her goals/aspirations as a mathematician, she responded:

"I've learned more about the breadth of opportunities math opens up, my goals have grown toward computational applications in fields like electrical engineering and computer science. Alongside my own goals, I've come to care deeply about helping others discover their STEM interests as well. Math has represented social mobility to me and helping others see how they can build their future through STEM, and related fields, makes the work much more meaningful."
