Specific Chemical Hazards
Chemicals are used in laboratories, shops and other areas across campus. EHS provides information and guidance on safe practices for handling, storing, transporting and disposing of hazardous chemicals.
UH faculty, staff and students should review the UH HazCom Plan and UH Chemical Hygiene Plan prior to beginning work with potentially hazardous chemicals. It is a good practice to develop and implement Chemical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that all laboratory personnel are adequately trained and familiar with the hazardous chemicals.
