Stormwater rules at the University of Houston fall into two distinct categories, but are all aimed at preserving the quality of waters into which runoff is directed. Construction where land is disturbed may require a Stormwater Polluition Prevention Plan. New construction or modification that increases the impermeable surface present at a location may require a Stormwater Quality Management Plan. In both cases, the owner of the facility is responsible for compliance with the term of the plan or permit and EHS is avilable to answer questions.
If you have a stormwater interceptor, oil-water separator, or engineered detention or retention features please review the terms of your permit and make sure that you are in compliance.
