EH22: X-Ray Safety Training
Course Description: Instructor-led training. This course is for users of x-ray generating equipment and covers basic x-ray physics principles, safety procedures, x-ray terminology, equipment safety devices, , documentation and record keeping, dosimetry, survey meters, basic radiation biology, emergency exposure procedures, orientation to University safety policies, and the Texas Department of State Health Services radiation regulations.
Who should take it: Required for all Principal Investigators and Authorized Users prior to work with X-rays at University of Houston.
Prerequisites: EH06-GENERAL LABORATORY SAFETY & HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ORIENTATION
Estimated Course Duration: 3 Hours
Frequency: One time Only
Please Note: After this initial training, EH22W (Refresher Training) is required annually for x-ray machine users/operators.
