EH07: Pyrophoric and Water Reactive Safety Awareness

Course Description: Online training that generally describes the hazards, control methods, proper storage, handling, disposal, and emergency procedures for working with pyrophoric and water reactive materials.

Who should take it: This Safety Awareness is mandatory for all UH personnel who directly work with or may be exposed to pyrophoric/water-reactive materials in the workplace, including those working in research, clinics, teaching laboratories, shops and facilities services. Handling of pyrophoric/water reactive materials are typically high-risk activities and must be controlled with adequate system design, direct supervision, and hands-on training on lab-specific SOP.

Prerequisites: EH06: GENERAL LABORATORY SAFETY & HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ORIENTATION
