For a minor in American Cultures, you will need to:

  1. Complete at least 18 semester credit hours of approved course work, including:
    • AMER 3300
      • 12 additional hours, nine of which must be advanced, in designated American Cultures Courses, with the following stipulations:
      • No more than six hours can come from a single department
      • At least three hours must be in the Social Sciences
      • At least three hours must be in the Humanities or Fine Arts
      • At least three hours must be in a course whose primary focus is not the United States
    • AMER 4300, the American Cultures Program's capstone experience, which usually involves an internship or an independent research project.
  2. Complete at least nine of the eighteen hours in residence, including six hours at the 3000 or 4000 level.
  3. Earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in all courses attempted in the minor.
