Coach Ethan Bui

Ethan Bui has been a part of UH Adaptive Athletics since 2021. Prior to serving as a wheelchair tennis coach, he held the positions of lead program coordinator as well as wheelchair tennis coordinator. His favorite memories with UH Adaptive Athletics have been training athletes and leading the 2022 Cougar Open.

Outside of UH Adaptive Athletics, Ethan is an active volunteer with several non-profit organizations, including the Sunflower Mission and Hung Vuong Vietnamese Language and Culture School. In his free time, he enjoys competing in tennis tournaments, running half marathons, and spending time with family. 

Ethan graduated from the University of Houston in 2022 and will begin his medical education at UTHealth McGovern Medical School in 2023. He is passionate about UH Adaptive Athletics, improving his abilities as a wheelchair tennis coach, and helping his athletes maximize their potential!

 

Coach Gabriel Gutierrez 

Gabriel Gutierrez is a UH alumnus and has been the Tennis Head Coach for Adaptive Athletics at UH since 2018. Throughout these years he has coached through multiple events and helped with the logistics of the Cougar Open. 

Besides working with Adaptive Athletics at UH, Coach Gabriel also coaches wheelchair tennis at Pearland Parks and Recreation, and volunteers as a member of the USTA Texas Wheelchair Tennis Committee helping expand wheelchair tennis in Texas. 

During his free time, he enjoys polishing and improving his coaching skills, learning more about wheelchair tennis, being with family and friends, and playing sports.
