Mission and Overview
Our Mission
Adaptive Athletics is committed to creating opportunities for people with disabilities through education, research, and adaptive sports participation.
What sports are included?
Adaptive Athletics at UH currently provides programs for wheelchair rugby and adaptive tennis. In the future, we hope to incorporate more adaptive sports into the club, such as power soccer and wheelchair basketball.
Why choose UH to house such a program?
The University of Houston is the second most diverse college campus in the U.S. With over 45,000 students and more than 300 undergraduate and graduate academic programs, UH provides us an excellent foundation to pursue our mission of creating opportunities for people with disabilities.
We are the only university in Texas to offer wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis. If you are interested, we are always looking to recruit players for our official wheelchair tennis team.
