HDFS 1311: Development of Self-Regulated Learning
Cr. 3. (3-0). Theory and research on cognitive, motivational, and behavioral factors related to academic success; emphasis on application to students' development.

HDFS 2317: Introduction to Human Development and Intervention
Cr. 3. (3-0). Multidisciplinary integration of biological, psychological, and cultural approaches to the study of life-span human development; introduction to the development-in-context approach to understanding human development; focus on applied problems related to delivery of human services.

HDFS 2320: Research Methods in Human Development and Family Studies
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: credit for or concurrent enrollment in HDFS 1300 or 2317. Understanding, planning, and evaluating research. The nature of scientific research, fundamentals of research, ethics, measurement, and design with emphasis on applications in HDFS.

HDFS 3317: Prenatal and Infant Development
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: HDFS 2317 or consent of instructor. Multidisciplinary integration of biomedical, psychosocial, and cultural perspectives on prenatal and infancy period; implications of early determinants in relation to later development.

HDFS 3318: Human Ecology and Adult Development
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: HDFS 2317 or consent of instructor. Multidisciplinary integration of biological, psychological, and cultural perspectives on adult development and aging; emphasis on development-in-context approach to understanding adulthood; and focus on applied problems related to adult development.

Cr. 3. (3-0). Explores career options within helping professions and psychology. Sub-specialites such as clinical, counseling, school, and educational psychology will be covered as well as ethical standards.

HDFS 4393: Internship in Human Development and Family Studies
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: HDFS major, senior standing, HDFS 4317 and HDFS 4319 for HDFS placement, and concurrent enrollment in 4394. Application of theoretical approaches to the study of the individual and the family through a supervised practicum in the student's area of emphasis.

HDFS 4394: Internship in Human Development and Family Studies
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: HDFS major, senior standing, HDFS 4317 and 4319 for HDFS placement, and concurrent enrollment  4393. Theoretical approaches to the study of the individual and the family through a supervised practicum in the student's area of emphasis.

HDFS 4397: Selected Topics in Human Development and Family Studies
Cr. 3. Prerequisites: junior standing in HDFS and permission of the instructor. May be repeated for a maximum of six semester hours of credit.
