Homecoming Spirit Bell Competition
Homecoming at UH is a tradition dating back to 1946. It brightens the campus with Cougar Red and brings out spirit beyond a football game. It is a week celebrating UH, uniting students and organizations, and showcasing Cougar Pride and Cougar Spirit.
All parts of the campus come together to celebrate, including faculty and staff. Sponsored by the UH Staff Council, the University of Houston Homecoming Spirit Bell Competition is the annual competition to award the faculty and staff who show the most Cougar spirit by decorating their offices during Homecoming Week.
2022 HOMECOMING SPIRIT BELL COMPETITION
For 2022, Homecoming Week was October 22-29. The Theme was “All Roads Lead Home” and faculty and staff were encouraged to decorate their offices for the entire week using that theme. Awards were given based on originality, Cougar Spirit, creativity, and overall appearance. Judging by the University of Houston Alumni Association took place on Monday October 24th and Tuesday, October 25th. The winner was recognized at halftime during the Homecoming game.
The winning office received its name on the UH Homecoming Spirit Bell Competition trophy.

2022 Homecoming - Staff Council Cougar Painting Activity
This year Homecoming Week included an engaging activity of painting Cougars. Multiple organizations were invited and participated including Staff Council. The spirited Cougars were then displayed at the Student Center.
