Staff Council scholarships and professional development reimbursement programs are made possible by continuous support from the President's Office and generous donations from UH staff, faculty, and friends of the University.

CHOOSE WHAT STAFF COUNCIL INITIATIVE TO SUPPORT

General Staff Council Fund (HC69458RN) supports year-round community outreach initiatives that benefit the UH Staff and promote service to the Third Ward community/greater Houston area.

Student Success

Staff Council B. Renae Milton Students of Staff Scholarship (HC54401RN) provides scholarship assistance with one $500 scholarship awarded annually to a University of Houston student who is a dependent of a UH staff member.

Professional Development

Staff Council Rebecca Szwarc Professional Development Reimbursement (HC54402RN) is available as part of the ongoing effort to promote staff education and self-development to full-time University of Houston staff members interested in attending seminars, workshops, training sessions, continuing education courses, professional organization memberships, etc. that are related to their jobs. One reimbursement is awarded monthly with the maximum reimbursement per workshop/seminar, etc. limited to $100.

Cougar First Impressions (CFI)

Cougar First Impressions (HC33288RN) is held annually, the first two days of the fall semester to welcome students to campus. UH staff volunteers help hundreds of students navigate the campus by providing maps and directions, UH branded giveaways, and cool treats. Funding is used to train new volunteers, execute the logistics for the 2-day event, and organize an appreciation luncheon for volunteers in the fall.
