How to Recover Files and Grades from the Canvas Recovery Site

Canvas Files, Grades, and Studio videos are backed up daily for the current term.

1. Go to Canvas Outage File/Grades Recovery
2. Click Next
3. Login with Cougarnet credentials. This will be skipped if you have already logged in with Cougarnet on another site.
4.  Click Proceed
5. You will see separate buttons for each course’s files, gradebook, and studio videos.

Files

1. Large Files can be downloaded individually by clicking download now.
2. Use the checkboxes to select the small files.
3. Once all files are selected, click download the files selected in column F button.
4. This will download a zip file that you can extract on your computer to view the files.

Gradebook

1. Click the gradebook button for a course to download a csv file of the gradebook.
   Note: Assignment columns will be ordered alphabetically.
2. Click grading set-up button to view your assignment weighting.

Studio

1. Click the studio button to see all studio videos.
2. Clicking on a video title will play it in the browser.
3. Click the three dots in the corner of the video player to select the download option.
