Immobilization
For habitual offenders or at the discretion of Parking and Transportation, an immobilization device may be used in lieu of towing.
If an immobilization device has been placed on your vehicle's front driver's side tire:
-
- Locate the notification decal affixed to the driver's side window.
- Carefully review and follow the instructions provided on the decal.
- Scan the QR code displayed on the decal using a mobile device.
- Locate and accurately enter the device's serial number when prompted.
- Submit valid payment for all associated violations, including the required device deposit.
- Upon successful payment, a release code will be issued. Enter the code by adjusting the number dials on the tire tag accordingly.
- Once the correct code is entered, remove the device from the vehicle.
- Return the device to one of the designated drop-off boxes located in the East Garage, Elgin Street Garage and Welcome Center North Garage on UH Main Campus. You can also find a drop-off box at UH Sugar Land.
- If you fail to return the device, there is a $30 replacement fee along with the loss of deposit.
