UH Katy
In order to park a vehicle at the University of Houston Katy, all students, faculty and staff must have a valid UH parking permit.
Overview of Parking Permit System
- UH Katy permits can be purchased through AccessUH by logging into the myParking icon and clicking the “Get Permit” button.
- Purchases can be made at any point during the semester and are prorated weekly.
- The UH Katy permits are valid only at the UH Katy campus.
- Please note: Most other valid University of Houston parking permits are permitted to park at UH Katy. (The evening-weekend permit cannot be used until 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.) The Monday-Wednesday-Friday and Tuesday-Thursday garage permits are not allowed to park at the Katy campus.
- As a reminder, University of Houston parking permits are virtual. This includes the
UH Katy permit. No hangtags will be mailed.

- 31 minutes-1 hour: $5
- 1-2 hours: $7
- 2-3 hours: $10
- 3-4 hours: $14
- 4-24 hours: $18

Traveling to Main Campus
Students traveling between the main UH campus and UH Katy have multiple public transportation options available through METRO.
Option 1: METRORail Purple Line + Route 222
- Take the METRORail Purple Line from the University of Houston area to Downtown Houston.
- Transfer to METRO Route 222 (Grand Parkway Park & Ride).
- Route 222 provides direct service to the Grand Parkway Park & Ride, which is adjacent to the UH at Katy instructional site.
Option 2: Route 54 (Scott) + Route 222
- Take METRO Route 54 (Scott) from the UH area to Downtown Houston.
- Transfer to METRO Route 222 (Grand Parkway Park & Ride).
- Route 222 provides direct service to the Grand Parkway Park & Ride adjacent to the UH at Katy instructional site.
Service Information
- The Purple Line operates approximately every 12 minutes on weekdays.
- Route 54 provides service between the University area and Downtown Houston. This route operates every 15 minutes.
- Route 222 operates between Downtown Houston and the Grand Parkway Park & Ride and runs as frequently as every 4 minutes during peak periods.
- Students may also use METRO's trip-planning tools or contact UH Parking and Transportation Services for assistance identifying the most convenient route based on their class schedule.
